Welcome to Balyak Studio.
I am Kayla Barilleaux, an illustrator and painter currently residing in the Willamette Valley of beautiful Oregon. Originally a Cajun native of Southern Louisiana, I've always found myself embarking on this creative journey that delves into the imagination's (swampy) depths, uncovering those bits of hidden and sometimes even forgotten treatures.

As an artist, I find solace in unraveling the intricate threads of nature's inner workings and the totality of human experiences. In my artwork, I explore deep and dark themes alongside embracing the quirky and lively aspects of life. With a keen eye for the minuscule, I am compelled to illuminate these often overlooked beauties that exist within our world. There is so much allurement, even in the shadows. I aim to bring that darkness into the light, in a way that doesn't cast out what's valuable, always striving to create art that brings smiles to people's faces.

However, my artistic prowess extends far beyond the realm of paint and illustration. It effortlessly flows and continues to expand into various other creative endeavors, including photography, sculpting, conceptual art, decorative design, applied arts, and more (with a dash of humorous indulgence).
